Expensive Life: Port-Gentil Hosted The Provincial Meetings Of Ogooué-Maritime

Place this year under the theme "Towards a neuro-inclusive world for all", World Autism Awareness Day, commemorated on April 2 each year, was celebrated the day before, in Port-Gentil, at the library del barrio Imya. Opportunity to raise awareness among the children of the primary classes who attend this conference and tutoring space which is open to them free of charge. Writer, slammer or even poetess, the artist Nanda la Gaboma spoke to the children, with words at their fingertips, on the essentials of what they needed to know about autism. Above all, how to behave with children who are affected. After explaining that autism is not contagious and that autistic children have the same rights as other children, she led her young audience to describe the behaviors to have towards autistic children. And the children answer: “we must love them”; “we have to talk to them”; “we have to play with them”; “we have to share our toys with them”; “we have to teach them what we know how to do”. They also understood that in turn, they could learn a lot of things from autistic children, because there are areas in which they are very good, especially music. An exercise intended to contribute to the acceptance of autism within society.

CHRISTMAS FOR ALL 4TH EDITION

To strengthen the popularization of the actions carried out by associating stakeholders, we have set up an associative village which aims to be the first platform for associative advocacy on the national level. Every December, the associative village is totally dedicated to children's rights and is usually followed by an edition of "Christmas for all" which is a recreational day during which several forgotten children celebrate the Christmas holiday like all the others. Manibus (La Main in Latin) is a multidisciplinary association of mutual aid and social action present in several countries including France, Ivory Coast, Benin and Togo. In Gabon, Manibus is very active in the fields of environment, human rights, in particular gender equality, women's rights, and children's rights. This year, the Manibus Association was in Port-Gentil. In partnership with local associations and NGOs. The discussions and advocacy of the Associative Village were done around the theme: THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD.
