Founded in 2020 by Carnancitha Moussavou Nguimbi, who is its president, La Maisond'Hermann is one of the member associations of the coordination of civil society organizations for the protection of children in Ogooué-Maritime. Its headquarters are in Port-Gentil.

Helping destitute children, orphans, abandoned babies, children orphaned by AIDS or children living with a handicap, makes La Maison d'Hermann an association with multiple activities.

More generally, La Maison d'Hermann seeks to improve the living conditions of OVCs, an acronym that stands for "orphaned and vulnerable children" because they are confronted with vulnerable situations. These include abused children, street children, sexually abused children, trafficked children, child soldiers, children displaced by war, etc.

This leads it to establish multiform partnerships with other associations and NGOs involved in one or other of its fields of action. The activities are focused on education, especially literacy courses, refresher courses, health care and initiation to entrepreneurship through free training workshops.

In 2020, La Maison d'Hermann made its first appearance thanks to the Catalogue Challenge

organized by Lestat XXL and which opposed Lord Ekomy Ndong to Franck Ba'Ponga. It was a question of "liking" the page Canal Plus Gabon, each "like" bringing to the association 500 CFA francs.
